One Size Fits All…..Huh, Say What?!

I was in City Sports the other day and saw some Under Armour seamless running undies that when I picked up the box to look at the size…it read “one size fits all”. Huh? Kim Kardashian and I are both fitting into these drawers? Most likely not. I bought them because they were on mega sale and hoped for the best. But really, bodies come in all shapes and sizes so how can something fit everyone? This got me thinking, often times in the fitness world, workout and diet fads are marketed with a one size fits all mentality. Just like one size fits all clothing is silly and nonsensical, fitness cannot be one size fits all. Depending on your specific fitness goals, fitness level, past and current injuries, lifestyle, preferences, caloric needs, body type, etc., you need a fitness plan that is specific to YOU and your needs.
The beauty of this world and everyone in it is that we are all different. Cookie cutter imagery is boring and contrived. Let’s remember this if feeling frustrated because you don’t have the body measurements of Sophia Vergara. Be the best version of YOU that you can be. A fitness routine that is geared towards you and your needs is what’s going to keep you sticking with it for a healthy and happy self! And p.s., those undies did not fit, shocker 😉
